Mobile

No matter how far you are from your computer, I'm always close at hand. I can send reminders by email to your BlackBerry, Palm, or iPhone, or text you on your cell phone.

Mobile confirmations

Why don't I get Sandy's mobile confirmation?

AT&T

Some of Sandy's clients who are using AT&T for mobile/SMS service have been having a little trouble getting mobile reminders set up. While Sandy sends them their confirmation code or a test message just fine, they never receive it on their mobile phone.

The problem seems to lie in that AT&T has several email-to-SMS gateways (which Sandy uses for sending out reminders):

  • New AT&T customers use "AT&T" (txt.att.net)

  • Older AT&T mmode customers use "AT&T mmode" (mmode.com)

And, just to add to the confusion:

  • Former Cingular customers use "Cingular" (mobile.mycingular.com)

If mobile reminders aren't working for you and you're an AT&T wireless customer:

  1. Visit Sandy's mobile settings page.

  2. Choose one of the carriers above from the pull-down menu (start with the one that seems to fit your situation best).

  3. Click the "save" button.

You should receive a confirmation code by SMS/text on your mobile phone.

  • If you do, type it into the Confirmation code box (it should be highlighted red) and click the "save" button again and you'll be all set.

  • If you don't, try the same thing with the next carrier listed above.

T-Mobile UK

If you're using T-Mobile UK for mobile/SMS service, before Sandy can text/SMS anything to you at all, you need to enable Mobile email — it's free to set up but you'll still be paying for these incoming text messages as you would any other.

After you have mobile email flowing through SMS to your mobile phone, head on over to Sandy's mobile settings page to set up mobile reminders.

Mobile provider not supported

If your mobile provider doesn't support email to SMS, consider turning on Sandy's Twitter reminders. Not only will you be able to receive text/SMS reminders on you mobile phone, but you'll also be able to chat with Sandy and receive reminders right from your computer via instant messenger.
